LADY GAGA WEARING ALEXANDER MCQUEEN

I can't think of a better person to embody Alexander Mcqueen design and belief that fashion should be about telling a story , expressing your self ,being bold.Lady Gaga is the Mcqueen of music. This is why I love seing her in Alexander Mcqueen.

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN SPRING/SUMMER 2011

A much softer approach to alexander Mcqueen design. The collection was amazing - clotheswise.THe hand carved wedge shoes that displayed butterflies and the hand-painted feather butterflies was pheomenal. However I still have to admit that it wasnt what I expected from Sarah Burton.I thought she would keep the spirit of alexander mcqueen alive by continueing the tradition of the house show making. The show didnt have any strong consept or creative experiementasion .They focused on reinventing the previous clothes and shapes of Mcqueen. But maybe it is nota bad thing because then they will make his shapes iconic like a channel suit is now for the channel house.
On the other hand though he was an art enthusiast ,he always experiemented with new techniques and he reivented hisself leaving us fashion enthusiasts speechless(which didn't actually happen this time).
Maybe Sarah Burto wanted with this collection say a goodbye to alexander Mcqueen and thus wanted to keep his design as much as possible. She definetelly got us recalling the previous years in a subtle and peacefull environment. It kind of looked like a lytrosis place.
I have very mixed feelings about this show .But it was deffinetely a great collection.

NIKOLA FORMICHETTI

Nikola Formichetti is one of the most famous stylists worldwide. He is currently
styling for Lady Gagas as well as being creative director of Dazed & Confused.
Morover he is  not only fashion director of Japanese Men’s Vogue, and contributing fashion
editor to V . But he is also  the Artistic Director  at Thierry Mugler.
His first collection ” Anatomy of Change ” for the house of Mugler, completely blew me away.

AHYOUNG CHOI -CONCEALED BALLERINA COLLECTION

The collection is inspired by Christo & Jeanne-Claude's land art.

Responsible for these amazing compositions of fabric and texture
is Ahyoung Choi. A Central Saint Martins graduate with apparently a
lot of skills for fabric manipulation .Her architecture-influenced shapes are
used - however to do a combination of being strong but soft and feminine at the
same time. Her designs push the boundaries of fashion and costume making
in a very experiemental and sophisticated way.

Looking forward for more.
